Load demo Firmware in the XPLR-IOT-1

This guide shows how to install the demo Firmware in the XPLR-IOT-1 (rev. D) . The main steps are:

Download tools and firmware
Upgrade the Firmware
Setup the connection with the XPLR-IOT-1

Tools and Firmware

Download the following tools and put all the software in the same folder

The CloudLocate XPLR-IOT demo code (app_update.bin, pick the latest version available) - XPLR-IOT-1 Demo
network manager - https://github.com/u-blox/XPLR-IOT-1-software/tree/main/tools_and_compiled_images
Update_XPLR-IOT-1-Location - https://github.com/u-blox/XPLR-IOT-1-software/tree/main/tools_and_compiled_images
Putty - https://www.putty.org/ - this tool is used to connect to the XPLR-IOT-1

Setup the connection to XPLR-IOT-1

Connect the to the laptop XPLR-IOT-1 using the USB cable provided in the package. Open the Device Manager Windows tool and go into the Ports (COM & LPT) section

There is a group of 4 consecutive COM ports. Take not of one with the lowest ID. If you see only 3 consecutive ports, change the USB port in the laptop.

Switch off the XPLR-IOT-1, keep the button 1 pressed and switch on the device. After a while, release button 1,

Open a command prompt and navigate to the folder where the example is located. remind that in the same folder shall be located also the nwtmgr and the Update_XPLR-IOT-1-Location tools.

Launch the update with the Update_XPLR-IOT-1-Location tool and provide the COM port as noted above.
